Woman Rejects Offers On $1M Apt So #CampFire Evacuees Can Stay For Free

A California property developer has put the sale of her $1-million apartment on hold so victims of the California wildfires can stay there for free until they find a place of their own. Caryn Kramer had received two offers on her property, but she decided wait so she could offer her space to those who lost everything in the Camp Fire.

A father from Calabasas and his two sons moved into the two bedroom, two bath furnished apartment first and now Melissa Goble, her boyfriend and his three daughters are staying there until they move into something more permanent. She says the hardest part of losing their home has been the constant moving around from place-to-place.

“We are super thankful to Caryn for letting us find a place to be able just to breathe momentarily,” Goble says of her generous landlord. “To pick up the pieces and find out what the next steps are going to be.”
