The hive just got official confirmation that Beyonce is the queen -- thanks to a London museum that added one of her rings to a display of crown jewels from generations of royals.
Bey donated the $150,000 butterfly ring, a gift from hubby Jay-Z, to London's V&A Museum, where it will be shown alongside items once worn by Elizabeth the First,Catherine the Great and Empress Josephine. The so-called Papillon [pr: pah-PEE-yon] ring is in the shape of a large butterfly poised to take off. It has titanium wings encrusted with green tsavorites, a stone said to be 1000 times rarer than emeralds.
Museum curator Clare Phillips says, “Beyonce is a figure whose personal style the V&A is proud to represent, and a gift from whose personal collection we are honored to receive. The Papillon ring she has gifted is an exquisite example of contemporary jewelry design by one of Britain’s master jewelers.”
