Seattle News Station KIRO didn’t just report about Washington state medical debt stories, they did something about them. The station worked with the charity RIP Medical Debt to buy $1-million worth of medical debt owed by viewers in the area for just $12,000.
Now a thousand lucky people will be getting yellow envelopes in the mail from KIRO to let them know that their medical debt is now taken care of. What an amazing surprise from a TV station!
