Quincy Jones has been saying a lot of interesting things lately - including that he's got a stable of 22 girlfriends around the world. But at one time, he says he also dated Ivanka Trump. According to "Vulture," Jones says the matchmaker was none other than Tommy Hilfiger.
"I used to date Ivanka," Jones explains. “Tommy Hilfiger, who was working with my daughter Kidada, said, ‘Ivanka wants to have dinner with you'.” And yes, he was interested - but didn't dig her dad back then either. "She’s a fine motherf***er," he notes. "She had the most beautiful legs I ever saw in my life. Wrong father, though.” Aside from his apparent love of the "M-F" word, he's got a lot to dish about:
- Asked what his first thoughts about the Beatles, Quincy remarked, “They were the worst musicians in the world. They were no-playing mother**kers.” And no, that's not all. On Paul McCartney: "The worst bass player I ever heard." And Ringo Starr? "Don’t even talk about it.”
- And the Beatles aren’t the only musicians he rips apart in the article. He also alleges that Michael Jackson, “stole a lot of stuff;” calls him “greedy,” and adds, quote - “He stole a lot of songs." Like what? "[Donna Summer’s] “State of Independence” and “Billie Jean.” The notes don’t lie, man," Quincy offers. "He was as Machiavellian as they come.”
- Sorry U2 fans, Jones doesn't think Bono and co are even making music anymore. "I love Bono with all my heart, but there’s too much pressure on the band," Jones explains. "He’s doing good work all over the world. Working with him and Bob Geldof on debt relief was one of the greatest things I ever did. It’s up there with 'We Are The World'."
- Apparently, decades of conspiracy theorists only needed to check in with him when it comes to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. So who did it? “[Chicago mobster Sam] Giancana," says Jones. "The connection was there between Sinatra and the Mafia and Kennedy. Joe Kennedy — he was a bad man — he came to Frank to have him talk to Giancana about getting votes.”
- On society in general - are we better off? "We’re the worst we’ve ever been, but that’s why we’re seeing people try and fix it," he muses. "Feminism: Women are saying they’re not going to take it anymore. Racism: People are fighting it. God is pushing the bad in our face to make people fight back."
- And he's SUPER humble. When asked 'What was your greatest musical innovation?' Quincy answers, "Everything I’ve done."
Now you know...
