Chamillionaire Steps Up To Help Family Of Man Deported To Mexico

By now, you've probably heard the story about 39-year-old Jorge Garcia who was deported to Mexico after being in the United States for the almost 30 years, since he was 10.

According to his family, Garcia had no criminal record and paid his taxes. So, they have no idea why he had to be forcefully removed from the only home that he's known since he was a child. "Garcia had faced an order of removal from immigration courts since 2009, but had been granted stays of removal under former President Barack Obama’s administration," NY Post reports.

"Garcia learned in November that he’d been scheduled to be deported as part of an immigration crackdown by President Donald Trump’s administration." The newspaper continues that Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Michigan) issued a request that asked for Garcia's deportation to be pushed back in order for him to spend the holidays with his family, which was granted. So this week, he had to leave.

Hearing this story touched Chamillionaire deeply. So, he reached out to a journalist who wrote about Garcia's deportation to lend a helping hand to the man's family. The "Ridin' Dirty" rapper's email to the writer said: "I recently read your article about Jorge Garcia being dep[o]rted to Mexico after 30 years of being in the United States and I'm reaching out to find out if you could possibly connect me with his family?"

He continued: "I'm a musician and tech investor and I'm looking to talk to them to see how I can help with financial support in Jorge's absence. It would be great if you could possibly point me in the right direction. Thanks." Check out the message below.
