NeNe Leakes is learning the hard way that not everything is funny.
In case you missed it, the reality show star-turned-comedienne got heckled at a show over the weekend in Oakland, California.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star was joking about male Uber drivers trying to get busy with their female passengers. It didn’t go over well, and one woman started heckling her. NeNe responded by telling her that she hoped her Uber driver raped her.
After NeNe faced criticism for her remark, she issued an apology. “I truly regret and apologize for what I said from the stage in Oakland over the weekend,” she said, “Sometimes words can cut deep and hurt when you have no intentions of them doing so. As a woman and someone who has survived abuse, I regret the words that I used. I made a mistake and I should have known better. I hope people accept my deepest and sincerest apologies. I am sorry.”
