Usher has given a whole new meaning to “Let It Burn.” The singer quietly settled a 2012 million-dollar lawsuit after infecting a woman with herpes. Now we know the details.
According to the paperwork, which was filed in California – where it’s illegal to knowingly transmit STDs without warning your partner – Usher “had rigorous unprotected sex without disclosing he was stricken with the rabid virus.” He reportedly was “exposed to herpes” in 2009 or 2010 – around the time of his divorce from his first wife, Tameka Foster. The lawsuit also disgustingly revealed his sex partner had concerns after a “greenish discharge once oozed from the performer’s penis.” But when the discharge cleared up, Usher was able to convince the woman he had an examination and was STD-free.
The woman eventually was diagnosed with a “first time infection.” After confronting the singer with the diagnosis, his doctors confirmed that he carried the herpes virus. He reportedly apologized for infecting her and pledged to take care of her medical bills.
And that’s not all. Apparently there is a twist to the story – the woman in questions was reportedly a bridesmaid in Usher and Tameka’s wedding. The SAME bridesmaid Tameka accused Usher of sleeping with during their custody battle. He has yet to comment or release a statement.
