Former Correctional Officer Tina Gonzalez has been sentenced to close to seven months in Fresno County Jail for having "sexual activity with an inmate. According to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office, Gonzalez "cut a whole in her pants to make it easier to have sex with the inmate." According to the Sheriff's Office, this was done while 11 other inmates watched.
Fresno Sheriff's Office says they jail received a tip about a male inmate having a cell phone in his jail cell. They also received a tip that the inmate was having a relationship with a correctional officer as well. Deputies did a search of the inmates cell and found the cellphone and after an investigation they found evidence to support the claim that Gonzalez was having sexual relations with the inmate.
According the the Sheriff's Office, they also discovered that Gonzalez has smuggled razor blades and alcohol into the prison in addition to the inappropriate relationship. Gonzalez relationship with the inmate lasted for over a year and continued even after she was arrested
All of this was happening while Gonzalez was married. She is scheduled to be released from jail in October 2021.
