We have very sad news to announce that Emcee Gift of Gab from legendary Bay Area (and Sacramento) rap duo Blackalicious has passed away at the age of 50.
Born Timothy Jerome Parker, the rap partner to DJ Chief Xcel was diagnosed with kidney failure back in 2014 and was able to get a kidney transplant in January 2020. According to Pitchfork he died from natural causes.
Gift of Gab started in Sacramento in high school when he linked up with DJ Chief Xcel.
