Former NBA Star Juaquin Hawkins Talks Having A Stroke, The NBA & More

Former NBA Star Juaquin Hawkins has a very unique story to tell. His route to the NBA was non-traditional to say the least. Hawkins didn't get his shot at the NBA until he was in his 30's, at the time he was the oldest rookie in the history of the NBA.

He got his chance to play with the Houston Rockets, with Stevie Francis and hall of fame coach Rudy Tomjanovich. His career was taking off, but suddenly he was told that he was being cut from the team.

Bouncing from one training camp to another, Hawkins decided to take his talents overseas, where he was hit with another devastating blow. Waking up in the middle of night because he wasn't feeling so well, he walks to the bathroom to see his face droopy and unable to move his arm. Hawkins had a stroke and he didn't even know it.

Hawkins tells this scary story of his basketball career being cut short because of his stroke and how he was able to rehab and recover and go back to playing basketball at the highest level.
