Hip-Hop is losing too many legends in a short period of time. First we lost the great DMX and then Black Rob and now we have lost a Bay Area legend, Shock G also known as Humpty Hump from the legendary group that launched Tupac's career Digital Underground.
According to AllHipHop.com and many other sources, the Bay Area rhymemaster has passed away at the age of 57. This has been confirmed by group member Chopmaster J who had this to say: โ34 years ago almost to the day we had a wild idea we can be a hip hop band and take on the world through it all the dream became a reality and the reality became a nightmare for some. And now heโs awaken from the fame long live shock G Aka Humpty Hump and Rest In Peace my Brotha Greg Jacobs!!!โ
Shock G was pivotal in Hip-Hop, with his witty rhymes and his alter-ego Humpty Hump. Shock G's "Humpty Dance" song went number 1 on the Billboard Rap/Hip-Hop charts.
In addition to his rap accolades, he was also intstrumentalShock G was also instrumental developing Tupac and introducing him to the world. Shock G was part of Tupac's album "Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z" and was featured on the single "I Get Around."
Hip-Hop fans and artist have flooded Twitter and Instagram with condolences for the legendary rapper.
