Multiple sources are reporting rapper Earl "DMX" Simmons has sadly passed away at the age of 50. This is a sad day in hip-hop. Having began his hip-hop career in 1991 ending with a great verzuz battle with Snoop Dogg, Dark Man X as he called himself will truly be missed.
DMX was hospitalized last week after suffering a heart attack. Since being rushed to a hospital in White Plains, New York, DMX was on life support with little brain activity according to TMZ and other sources. The reason behind his heart attack is still unknown, however, TMZ did speculate that it was due to a drug overdose, that has not been confirmed.
DMX was nominated for a Grammy three times and won two American Music Awards.ย With his signature raspy voice, DMX is best known for his singles "Ruff Ryders Anthem" and "Party Up (Up In Here)."
Prayers to DMX's family and friends and to the whole hip-hop community. We have lost a legend and a great, who will forever be remembered as one of the best to ever do it.
