Easter Night was one to remember, when two legendary groups decided to go head to head in the much anticipated Verzuz battle between Earth Wind and Fire and Isley Brothers. The battle was great for the culture, with over 500,000 people tuning into the Instagram live performance.
The presence of Black excellence was on full display during the Verzuz battle. The two groups had hits across numerous decades that has been sampled in 100s of hip-hop songs, which shows their influence on hip-hop culture. Those two iconic groups deserve all the flowers in the world for their contributions to music.
The internet was the internet however, and the tweets and comments were just as entertaining as the battle and a few days later, the tweets are still coming in.
The battle started off with singer Tyrese and rapper The Game making comments about their moms.
