DMX's Lawyer Says The Rapper Is Now "Off Life Support"

We have some good news coming out of DMX's camps. The Ruff Ryder emcee long-time attorney Murray Richman in an interview with PIX 11 News in New York says DMX has been taken off of life support and is "breathing on his own."

This is great news, as before we reported TMZ heard from sources within DMX's camp that doctors didn't think the prognosis was well and that he might not make it and other sources told TMZ that the rapper was in a "vegetative state."

Richman continued to say that he is still concerned about DMX and his conditions and that "it would be disingenuous of me to suggest that I am not a worried man at this particular point."

Richman in the interview said that the rapper was in grave condition and suffered a heart attack, but he did not mention what caused the heart attack.

DMX was rushed to the hospital for a heart attack late Friday night after allegedly overdosing, according to TMZ. The 50-year-old rapper is currently hospitalized at a hospital in White Plains, NY.

DMX has been very open about his struggles with drug addiction and has been in and out of rehab. His most recent public appearance was a Verzuz battle with Snoop Dogg, which had over 500,000 viewers and it looked like he was in good spirits.

We are keeping DMX in our prayers
