Taking to twitter, Nick Cannon issued an apology to the Jewish community for his “hurtful and divisive words” that he said on his YouTube show on June 30.
He continued tweeting, that his words "reinforced the worst stereotypes of a proud and magnificent people and I feel ashamed of the uninformed and naive place that these words came from."
This apology comes 24 hours after ViacomCBS split ways with him over his comments. This apology might just saved him his job with the “Masked Singer” and numerous other business ventures that he has.
According to TMZ, Late Wednesday, FOX company, the place where "The Masked Singer" is aired, said they spoke with Nick about his comments and felt he was "clear and remorseful that his words were wrong and lacked both understanding and context, and inadvertently promoted hate." The network said, based on that interaction with Nick, they would move forward with him.
This is interesting because ViacomCBS said Nick wouldn’t budge when it came to an apology, but 24 hours later, he issues an apology recognizing that his comments hurt the Jewish community. You can check out Nick’s apology below.
