Durant fell for the bait and then things escalated, quickly. To give you a little back story, Kendrick Perkins was commenting on how former Thunder (and teammate) Russell Westbrook was having a homecoming, returning to OKC for the first time since being traded to the Houston Rockets.
Perk said he believed Russell was the best Thunder ever, subliminally throwing a jab at Kevin Durant, who by all means is a better player than Russ and also played for OKC Thunder with Westbrook (and Perkins). Apparently, Durant caught wind of the tweet and all hell broke loose. Durant said Perkins wasn't good while he was on the Thunder and Perk followed with a barrage of tweets calling Durant a "coward."
