R. Kelly’s manager appeared Friday before a judge after being arrested in California for threatening a Manhattan movie theater,
Donnell Russell allegedly threatened a theater with a shooting; the theater was set to show Surviving R. Kelly, a documentary detailing the singer's alleged abuse. Russell's call triggered a cancellation of the screening. He has now been charged with conspiracy and threatening physical harm by interstate communication.
Russell has also been charged in a New York federal court for harassing a victim of Kelly's and her mother. He allegedly sent the victim cropped nude photos of herself and a text saying, "Pull the plug or you will be exposed.”
