A 29-year-old woman who posed as a teenager so she could attend high school has been charged with a crime.
Hyejeong Shin is facing one count of providing a false government document with the intent to verify one’s identity or age, according to J.T. Miller, deputy director of the New Brunswick Police Department. The document that netted the charge was a birth certificate, which Shin reportedly faked to make her appear younger, Miller says.
She was taken into custody after she attended classes at New Jersey’s New Brunswick High School for four days last week. Investigators still haven’t determined why Shin scammed the school.
