Sacramento Zoological Society Announces Appointment of Dan Simon as New CEO
The Sacramento Zoological Society Board of Trustees today announced the appointment of Dan Simon as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Sacramento Zoo. Simon will assume the role effective early December.
Simon currently serves as Executive Director of Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, Texas, and will come to Sacramento with more than 18 years of executive leadership experience in both medium and large zoological organizations. His previous roles include Vice President of Operations at Great Plains Zoo and Chief Operating Officer at ZooTampa. He is a graduate of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Executive Leadership Development Program and currently serves as an AZA accreditation inspector.
