48th Annual Sacramento Jewish Food Faire 10/12

Listen: Theresa Golden, Jewish Food Faire Chair

- The Sacramento Jewish Food Faire, a cherished community tradition for nearly five decades, is back and bigger than ever. This year’s event takes place on Saturday, October 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, marking an exciting new chapter as the Food Faire moves to a significantly larger venue to accommodate its growing crowds and community demand.

What began nearly half a century ago as a small cultural gathering has blossomed into one of Sacramento’s most anticipated annual festivals. With more attendees each year, the Food Faire has outgrown its original home and now brings its unique blend of food, music, and tradition to the expansive Scottish Rite Masonic Center - ensuring plenty of room for guests to eat, explore, and enjoy.

This year’s Faire will showcase local small business vendors from across Sacramento, alongside live music, a kid’s play area, and authentic Jewish deli-style favorites like pastrami sandwiches, matzo ball soup, open-faced lox bagels, and an assortment of bagels with schmear, plus a lively wine garden.

A highlight of the day will be the first-ever Best Bagel Contest at 1 p.m., featuring entries from:

· Forgotten Bakery

· Deluco Farms

· Battin’s Bagel Bike

· Immortal Bakery

· Upper Crust Bakery

· Posh Bagel

· Better Half Bagels

The contest will be judged by an impressive panel, including Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty, Benjy Engel, and The Taste Duo. Guests are invited to cheer on their favorite bagels and witness history as the inaugural winner is crowned.

“The Sacramento Jewish Food Faire has always been about celebrating community, culture, and connection,” said Theresa Golden, Food Faire Chair. “We’ve grown so much over the years that it was time to bring the Faire to a larger home. The Scottish Rite Masonic Center gives us the space we need to welcome more people than ever before - and to keep the traditions alive in a bigger, bolder way.”

The event is open to the public, with free parking available onsite.
