Do you live in the most affordable place to rent a space in California?
While there are a handful of cost-effective places to rent across the state, only one locale is known for being the most affordable. Population, median annual gross rent, and median annual household income were just a few statistics analyzed to determine the most affordable place to rent a space in California.
According to a list compiled by WalletHub, the most affordable place to rent in California is Fremont. Fremont ranked as the 27th most cost-effective place to live in the country.
Bismarck, North Dakota, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Fargo, North Dakota, rounded out the top five most affordable places to live across the country.
Here's what WalletHub had to say about compiling the data to discover the most affordable places to rent in each state:
"To determine the most affordable cities for home renters, WalletHub compared a sample of 182 U.S. cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — using the median annual gross rent as a share of the median annual household income."
