Driving can be a very dangerous activity.

Nearly 43,000 fatal crashes occur in the U.S. each year, per data sourced by USA Today. These crashes take place all over the country, but there are specific spots in which fatalities caused by car accidents are more likely to occur. These tragically storied intersections have an extremely dangerous reputation, cultivated by numerous crashes from 2004 to 2021.

According to a list compiled by Piasta Walker Hagenbush LLC's legal team, the most dangerous intersections in California are Imperial Highway and Downey Avenue and Central Avenue and 120th Street in Los Angeles County. Five fatal crashes have occurred at each of these intersections between 2004 and 2021.

Here's what Piasta Walker Hagenbush LLC's legal team had to say about compiling the data to discover the deadliest intersection in each state:

"Data for this analysis comes from the National Highway Transit Safety Administration’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System. We looked at fatal crashes from 2004 through 2021 (the most recent year for which data has been publicly released as of February 2024), isolating crashes that either happened in an intersection or as a result of driver action in an intersection (turning, etc.)."
