Richard Sherman kicked off his Thanksgiving by giving back to his community. The San Francisco 49ers cornerback helped wipe out the outstanding student lunch debt at Cabrillo Middle School in Santa Clara, California by writing a check for $7491.27.
That donation is just the latest in a string of acts of kindness for the NFL player.
Earlier in November, Sherman gave $20,000 to Tacoma Public Schools in Tacoma, Washington to help eliminate their school lunch debt. And he also recently donated $5,000 to help a Pop Warner youth football team from his hometown of Compton, California get to the National Youth Championship. So it’s really no surprise that Sherman was named the Week 11 Community MVP by the National Football League Players Association.
