Police and state health officials in North Carolina say three women were running a fight club with elderly dementia patients at an assisted living facility.
Police said in a statement that Marilyn McKey, Tonacia Tyson and Taneshia Jordan face charges of assaulting an individual with a disability related to allegedly coaxing residents at the Danby House in Winston-Salem to fight each other.
A state Division of Health Service Regulation report found that the trio staged the fights in June that resulted "in one resident being strangled with her face turning red…while staff recorded and shared the video through social media."
The report also said one of the three women was heard encouraging an elderly person with dementia engaged in a fight to "punch her in the face." (NBC News)
