Kanye West may not have dropped his “Jesus is King” album on Friday as scheduled, but we’ll still get to check out some of the music before the month is up.
He’s teaming up with Imax to release a film by the same name.
“Filmed in the summer of 2019, ‘Jesus Is King’ brings Kanye West’s famed Sunday Service to life in the Roden Crater, visionary artist James Turrell’s never-before-seen installation in Arizona’s Painted Desert,” Imax said in a statement. “This one-of-a-kind experience features songs arranged by West in the gospel tradition along with music from his new album ‘Jesus Is King’ — all presented in the immersive sound and stunning clarity of Imax.”
Look for “Jesus is King” to hit theaters around the world on October 25th.
- Meanwhile, Mr. Kim Kardashiantook his Sunday Service on the road over the weekend. In Detroit, heheld a listening partyfor “Jesus is King: A Kanye West Experience” after his event on Friday. He and Chance the Rapper performed together in Chicago on Sunday, and he ended his weekend with some old fashioned freestyle rapping at The Greater Allen AME Cathedral in Queens, New York. Akon,Swizz Beatz, and Alexander Wang were in the building.
