Dave Chappelle is pulling no punchesin his latest Netflix comedy special. He touches on the Michael Jackson, R Kelly, and Kevin Hart controversies in the first 20 minutes of “Sticks & Stones.”
“This is he worst time ever to be a celebrity,” Dave noted. “You’re gonna be finished. Everyone’s doomed. Michael Jackson has been dead for 10 years, and this n— has two new cases."
Speaking of Michael, the comedian doesn’t believe the claims in HBO’s “Leaving Neverland.” After stating flat out, “I don’t think he did it,” he went on to say that if Macauley Culkin hasn’t mentioned it, it probably didn’t happen. Needless to say, both Wade Robson and James Safechuck are slamming Dave for his comments, and Jackson’s estate is agreeing with him.
- On the other hand, Dave completely believes that R Kelly is guilty. While he was offered the chance to appear in “Surviving R Kelly,” he declined because he doesn’t know him. “This guy makes more sex tapes than he does music,” he added. “He’s like theDJ Khaledof sex tapes,” before yelling out, “Another one!”
- Finally, Dave defended Kevin Hart in the wake of the Oscars controversy. "I don’t know what you know about Kevin, but I know that Kevin Hart is damn-near perfect," he stated. "As close to perfect as anybody I’ve ever seen. In fact, Kevin is precisely four tweets shy of being perfect.”
