Deidra “Spinderella” Roper is suingCheryl “Salt” James andSandra “Pepa” Denton for allegedlyswindling her out of millions.
Spin claims that the duo known as Salt-n-Pepa started playing shady with the money starting with their 1999 Best of album. She was promised a third of the royalties for the record – somewhere around $125-thousand bucks – and she never saw a dime.
She also got stiffed on their VH1 TV show that chronicled their rise to fame. She was supposed to get a third of the group’s fee for the show, but ended up with way less. She got nothing for their appearance at the 2018 Billboard Awards.
The final straw came this year. The DJ found out that while her bandmates had pocketed over $600-thousand over the last decade, she hadn’t seen any of it. She’s suing for fraud, breach of contract, and trademark infringement because they continue to use her to promote their performances.
