Samuel L. Jackson is the latest cast member to join Chris Rock’s upcoming “Saw” reboot. Apparently the comedian is set to play a detective in the horror flick, and Jackson will play his character’s father. To review, the plot centers on Jigsaw – a sadistic serial killer who forces victims to play deadly games of survival. The original was released in 2004 and the eighth edition was released in 2017.
According to Lionsgate Chairman Joe Drake, “’Saw’ is one of the highest-grossing horror franchises of all time and it’s one of Lionsgate’s most successful film series.” Drake also shared the reboot will have an “unexpected and sinister new story” for fans. “This is next level of “Saw“on full tilt.”
Production is already underway for the revamped thriller, whichwill be released on October 23rd, 2020.
