After a teenage girl walking home from summer school thwarted a kidnapping scare, experts share the best way for kids to protect themselves.
Nassau County Police are on the hunt for a man they say tried to kidnap a 13-year-old girl as she walked home from summer school in Uniondale, Long Island, Tuesday around 12:30 p.m. Police said the strange man followed the teen as she walked home, and as she approached her home, he chased her, grabbed her and put his hand over her mouth. The girl was able to break free before he grabbed her once more, trying to drag her behind parked cars, police said. The girl again fought off the man and ran into her home before the man fled, police said.
